- Doubleday and Company, Inc., a publishing firm, was founded as Doubleday, McClure & Company in 1897; known through various mergers and partnerships as Doubleday, Page & Company from 1900 through 1927 and Doubleday, Doran & Company from 1928 through 1945; and adopted its present name in 1946. Ken McCormick (Full name: Kenneth Dale McCormick. Born 1906; died 1997.) served more than fifty years with the company as an editor and administrative officer. These records were selected for preservation under his direction.

Summary
- Correspondence, memoranda, notes, drafts and manuscripts of writings, galley proofs, contracts, publicity material, book jackets, notes, financial papers, photographs, clippings, and other records comprising chiefly editorial and author files, together with some administrative files of the company. McCormick's cover notes (1986-1992) describe each author and editorial file. The bulk of the collection dates from 1910 to 1992, and the files on historical novelist Kenneth Lewis Roberts are the largest set. Among the many authors represented are Stephen Vincent Benét, Arnold Bennett, Bruce Catton, Noel Coward, Arthur Conan Doyle, Daphne Du Maurier, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Paul W. Gallico, Ellen Glasgow, Arthur Hailey, Alex Haley, O. Henry, Helen Keller, Robert F. Kennedy, Rudyard Kipling, T. E. Lawrence, W.
