LC Online Catalog Print, Save, and Email
You may Print, Save, or Email one or more records using functions integrated into the LC Online Catalog.
From a Titles List or a Call Number Browse, you have the option to Select All records on the current page of your search results or to mark individual records by checking the box to the left of the brief record information. Records you select will be retained when you page forward and backward through your search results. After making your selection, click the Print, Save, or Email button to the right of Select All.
From an individual record display, select Print Record, Save Record, or Email Record from the left panel of the display.
Print Search Results (Text)
To print the item(s) you selected, choose a brief or full Print Format from the drop-down menu, then select the Print button. Your print results will display in a new browser screen, with each record separately numbered. Use your browser's print function to print the contents of the screen, then close your browser window.
Records in the LC Online Catalog use Unicode (UTF-8 encoding) for printing. In addition to Roman scripts, the Catalog contains records in the following languages/scripts: Chinese, Japanese, Korean; Cyrillic-based scripts; Greek; Hebrew, Yiddish; and Perso-Arabic script (e.g., Arabic, Persian, Pushto, Sindhi, Urdu). For more information, see Searching/Displaying Non-Roman Characters. In general, your preferred Web browser settings will not need to be changed to correctly view and print records that contain diacritics, special characters, or non-Roman characters. If you have problems, however, you may need to reconfigure your browser. Best results occur if you have Unicode fonts and use Unicode character encoding with automatic character encoding activated.
Save Search Results (MARC)
To save the item(s) you selected as MARC records, choose either the MARC UTF-8 or MARC-8 Save Format from the drop-down menu below, then select the Save button. A dialog box should appear in your browser prompting you to save your results. The LC Online Catalog export file is always named records.mrc, so take care to rename your local file to prevent exports from being overwritten.
Email Search Results
To email the record(s) you selected, enter your email address in the form box, adjust the form Subject line (if desired), add your comments, then select the Email button. The email you receive will contain a brief citation and a persistent link for your LC Online Catalog records:

This brief text version of a record supports copying and pasting citation information into a text document. The Cite Record display contains minimal formatting. Note, however, that the document into which you copy this citation should use Unicode-compliant fonts.
